TheraCare Access Fund
TheraCare Access Fund
Project Aim
To
provide sustainable financial support that enables children with
special needs from low-income families to access life-changing therapy
services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, and
physiotherapy.
Project Goals:
Increase Access: Sponsor at least 100 children annually for therapy sessions across approved centers.
Build Partnerships: Collaborate with qualified therapists, therapy centers, and special needs schools for quality service provision.
Empower Caregivers: Provide orientation and home-practice guides for parents and guardians of beneficiaries.
Track Progress: Monitor the developmental milestones and progress of each sponsored child for long-term support and advocacy.
What The Project Entails
The TheraCare Access Fund
is a compassionate intervention designed to remove financial barriers
that prevent children with special needs—especially those with
conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and speech delays—from receiving consistent and professional therapy.
-
Subsidized Therapy Access:
Registered children will receive therapy services at partner clinics or
through in-house therapists, fully or partially funded by Glowing Star.
Therapist Network:
Glowing Star will establish a network of certified therapists who are
committed to inclusive, compassionate care, and will negotiate
affordable service packages.
Caregiver Training:
Beneficiaries' families will receive periodic coaching on at-home
therapy techniques, daily care tips, and emotional support to sustain
development progress.
Monitoring & Evaluation:
Each child’s progress will be tracked using development-focused
assessments, with reports shared with caregivers and funders to ensure
accountability.
For children with special needs, therapy is not a luxury — it is a critical lifeline to functional independence, communication, mobility, and inclusion in society.
Yet, across many communities in Nigeria, families simply cannot afford
these essential services. A single session of speech or occupational
therapy can cost thousands of Naira, making consistent care impossible
for most low-income households.
The TheraCare Access Fund ensures that no child is left behind due to economic status. It is not just about therapy sessions — it is about unlocking potential, building confidence, and giving every child the dignity of growth and the right to thrive.
